Dr. Courtney Gowin is a West Texas native with a California soul. She discovered the healing power of chiropractic through a college basketball injury that ended up being the biggest blessing and paved the way for her to go to chiropractic school after finishing her studies at Abilene Christian University.

During her time at Parker University, Dr. Gowin fell in love with not only the body's capacity to heal naturally, but also to birth naturally. She and her husband, Brandon Gowin, have welcomed three sweet girls, Amelia Rose, Capri Nicole, and Luna Lou into this world naturally at home.

After two years in practice Dr. Gowin saw the void in the birth community of actual community, and through a lot of prayer and hard work, created the NEST.  Being able to practice alongside a midwife, massage therapists, and many other birth workers, Dr. Gowin has been able to support and empower hundreds of women during their birth experience and beyond. Supporting and ecouraging women throughout their pregnancies and beyond is one of Dr. Gowin's greatest passions.

Along with running Free to Be Chiropractic, Dr. Gowin also teaches and speaks to chiropractors around the world.  She holds a special passion for mentoring students and teaching this beautiful art of prenatal chiropractic.  When she is not traveling, teaching, or doing yoga you can find her chasing all her animals around on their family farm.

Skill Highlights:

Dr. Amanda Murray grew up in Mobile, Alabama and attended Auburn University. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science and a RYT 200 (Registered Yoga Teacher). Amanda’s chiropractic journey began in college where she found healing from a childhood horse accident. Before seeing a chiropractor, she struggled for years with pain while in her teens. From then on Amanda knew she was being called to help others begin to heal their own bodies through a healthy lifestyle and chiropractic care. She is passionate about removing interference to allow the body to heal itself.

Amanda attended Parker University (graduated April 2019). While in student clinic she experienced so much joy from serving expecting mommas, babies and families. During school she refined her skills in soft tissue techniques with additional certifications in ART (Active Release Technique). She felt relief from soft tissue work on her scars and other muscle imbalances using ART and wanted to be able to offer the same relief to the population she serves. Amanda also received her Webster Certification, a technique specific to prenatal chiropractic and the pelvis. Soon after graduating from Parker she received her certification as a BirthFIt Professional. Through BirthFit she learned more about postpartum care, nutrition, connection and functional movements to support pregnancy.

Amanda lives in Frisco with her husband Cullen and two mini Australian shepherd fur babies. Amanda and Cullen attend Preston Trail Community Church. They both love learning about their Savior and sharing the gospel with others. Amanda also enjoys riding horses at The Paddocks Stable, hiking, traveling to see her family and doing yoga.

Emily is our life doula.  She is the first smiling face you see when you walk in the door at the NEST.  One of her many talents is being the office baby whisperer.  If you need a few minutes of peace during your adjustment, she is there to help out and love on your little one.  Her love and passion for Jesus is seen in every hug and conversation.

Emily is also the resident doula at the NEST.  If you have any labor or birth questions, she is your go to!  When she is not at Free to Be, you can catch her leading worship at her dad's church, the Warehouse.
